Parenting22: In Praise of Mister Rogers

Play

Everything you ever need to know you can learn from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

So go give some money to PBS and hopefully that will make up for any copyright laws I may have inadvertently broken.

But I just love Mister Rogers, and I want you to love him too.  So if you aren’t already a rabid fan, listen up and change your mind.

Thanks so much for this reminder, Amy. I agree that Mr. Rogers is the greatest show ever on television (except for maybe the Muppet Show), but I forget about it for my kids since it’s hardly ever on actual TV anymore. But I’m going to go watch it online with them, like RIGHT NOW. (Or maybe I’ll put “It’s You I Like” on repeat until one of us can’t take it anymore)

    *heart* mr rogers

i must admit to having fallen prey to those rumors once apon a time about him being a tough ass military guy in his youth, but your kids got the google out and got me back on the path of mr rogers truth.

About 15 years ago I rediscovered mister rogers in my late twenties early thirties. I also love him …. it’s more than that. He’s the one who’s special, or will always have a special place in my heart.
I also wrote him a letter and he wrote me a letter back which I still have. I’m so sorry about the loss of your letter. If you’d like I could type out my letter in an email and share mine with you. :)
